Thank you from Chef Suree: Midlands Chef of the Year 2026

I am so proud and grateful to share that I have been named Midlands Chef of the Year 2026 at the Midlands Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards.

When I first opened my little restaurant in Ironbridge more than 25 years ago, I never imagined receiving an award like this. I simply wanted to cook the food I grew up with, share the flavours of Thailand, and create a place where people feel welcome, cared for and happy.

This award means so much to me because it recognises the food, the hard work, the passion and the love that goes into everything we do at Suree’s Kitchen.

I want to say a very big thank you to all our customers, friends, supporters, suppliers and everyone who has believed in me over the years. Many of you have been with us for such a long time, and your kindness, encouragement and loyalty mean more than I can say.

Thank you also to our team, to The White Hart in Ironbridge, and to everyone involved in the Midlands Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards. It was a wonderful evening and a very special moment for us to bring this award home to Shropshire.

At Suree’s Kitchen, we will continue doing what we love: cooking fresh, authentic Thai food from the heart, using homemade sauces, carefully balanced spices and wonderful local ingredients wherever we can.

We would love to welcome you soon, whether for our Thursday fresh fish nights, Friday and Saturday Thai suppers, or our Thai Tapas-style lunches.
